Mission Harbour and A Video Tour of Autarkia

  1. Autarkia is looking beautiful. An awesome amount of space and storage. And yesterday's fire video was mesmerising. Wishing I had space aboard 'Free' for a real fire but I can't think where it would go. Time to upgrade to a triloboat?!

    1. Thanks Jon! The Dickinson solid fuel heater is fairly compact and only needs a small amount of bulkhead space. They make them right here in BC. Here's a link: http://dickinsonmarine.com/product_cat/solid-fuel-heater/

  2. Yes, quite a visual coaxer into having a trilo for ones self. What a huge amount of room. The king bed looks to be a pure delight. Actually getting such a 3D view of the space shows what a massive amount of work is involved in building a liveaboard. But also how possible it is given determined and paced effort. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks Robert! The idea with the king size bed is that we can get the mattresses at a regular store at a reasonable price (approx $150 each) instead of "marine foam" custom cut for a LOT more. It just makes sense, and we can replace them after a few years if we need to. The other thing about that large bed, is that it is lounging space as well; You can sit up and read or use a laptop and still look out the windows.

It HAS been a lot of work so far, but I cut the first piece of wood last Christmas Eve. It still has only been less than a year, and I'm thinking that by this Christmas we'll have the interior pretty much finished. That leaves me the winter to work on the rig!
