Portlights All Cleaned Up

Here are the portlights featured in the last post.  I had them vapour blasted at Vapour Blast Canada.  Great job and great price.  I highly recommend them.

  1. Quality hardware that will last as long as you and probably well beyond.... way cool in a time of engineered failure for a lot of items. Lovely gleam.... SHIPPY!!!

    1. Thanks Robert! Spending some time now figuring out a way to cut the holes for them. I have to build up the cabin wall thickness on the inside as well since I don't want to cut down the flanges on these babies. I'm working on a circle cutting jig to use with my Dremel - holes need to be 8.5" diameter...

  2. Very nice bling you have there. My Dremel set came with a circle cutting jig. I found it worked better if I took multiple passes to cut out the circle, as opposed to trying to cut it in a single deep cut pass

    1. Thanks Dennis. I've watched many a YouTube vid - none of which exactly shows what I need to do in my case. I'm fairly limited in clearances for the tooling to at least get through the cabin bulkhead. The thickeners to go on inside later are no problem because they can be done on the bench but the boat itself is more complicated. It's gelling in my head though... when I have it down pat I'll post it for sure.
