Getting Some Windows Installed

As the nice weather continues I'm getting the fixed windows installed.  So far the port side is done, although once the clear silicone is cured I have a fair bit of cleanup to do with an X-Acto knife and a razor blade.  All surfaces that interface have some silicone between.  Everything bolted or screwed every 5 or 6 inches.  I'm hoping they won't leak over time...

  1. Wait ... hold the phone! Is that really purple or some camera trick?

    1. It's weirdness with the light. The colour is really a light charcoal. It also takes a few days to cure completely so that purpleness will go away in the strong sunlight.

    2. That's good. I was worried that you decided to go with the classic "eggplant" motif. ;-) Will those window frames get something like a dark green hull-colored paint, or stay bright and shiny?

    3. I'm going to clean up the frames with red Scotchbrite which will dull down the sheen a bit, but they'll be left bare otherwise. Lorri says the aluminum colour and the grey deck pull together quite well. The railing and grab rails (in the garage waiting to be painted) will likely be painted a light grey, or a metallic grey as well. Should look cool...
